Memory Care Services Training Program
Required by the Arizona Department of Health Services
WHO IS REQUIRED TO ATTEND
In compliance with the Arizona State Department of Health Services, all health care professionals, front-line staff, and contractors who work with memory care patients are required to complete certified training by October 1, 2025.
Harmony Community Foundation is a state-certified training provider approved by the Arizona Department of Health Services.
TRAINING REQUIREMENTS
8 hours of initial memory care training for all staff
4 additional hours required for managers
COMPLIANT TRAINING OPTIONS
Our In-person sessions ensure compliance, improve care, and meet state certification requirements with Harmony Community Foundation’s approved training program.
COST
Initial 8-hour training includes an electronic student notebook. $100
Manager additional 4-hour training $50
All proceeds go to support the work of Harmony Community Foundation providing assistance to low-income individuals with a terminal diagnosis

INSTRUCTOR
Terri Waldman
Terri Waldman has over 25 years of experience providing services and advocacy for older adults in Pima County. She has expertise with Older Adults and Behavioral Health through her role as Director of the Generations Senior Mental Health Unit at El Dorado Hospital and as Director of Tucson Medical Center Geropsych Unit, which she opened in January of 2015. She has also served as the Director/Administrator of two local memory care units, Pacifica Senior Living and Copper Canyon where she ensured quality care for cognitively impaired individuals and their families. She assisted in the opening of Hacienda at the Canyon as the Director of Member Health Services. She most recently was the Executive Director of St. Luke’s Home that provides affordable assisted living to low-income seniors. Terri believes that we can learn from the “Buddhas on Earth” as she calls individuals with Alzheimer’s Disease, about how the present moment is life’s greatest gift. Her person-centered approach and her father’s belief that five minutes of laughter a day creates a happy life guides her practice and life journey.
